Fillies' finale at the Blue Hors Foal Championships
With over 70 foals in this year’s Foal Championship, evenly distributed between filly and colt foals, there were plenty of foals for the breeders to observe! And here, a daughter of Kingston, presented in the perfect package, stood out particularly!
A Kingston daughter in the perfect package
The winner of this year’s Blue Hors Foal Championship was the appealing, feminine, and well-lined filly, Kira RAH (by Blue Hors Kingston/Jazz/De Niro) from Norwegian breeder Andreas Høiås. Kira RAH possesses three excellent gaits and is descended from Iben Leere Kamp’s mare line, which has also produced a champion stallion, gold medal mares, and several Grand Prix horses!
Kira RAH is proof that Kingston passes on his own good type and superb functionality, including a particularly good canter. His unique pedigree allows him to be combined with virtually any bloodline – and today, it was in combination with a Jazz mare that the judges chose as this year’s winning filly among more than 30 participating filly foals!

Breeding director Martin Klavsen naturally has a close collaboration with international breeding associations, and he had enlisted the expertise of two prominent breeding authorities to provide their professional evaluation of the foals’ condition.
The Foal Championship offers a unique opportunity for breeders to receive the unbiased comments of these experienced judges through oral assessments. It is important to remember that foals develop at different rates, so this critique is just a snapshot and can change over time.

Floor Dröge (NED)
Floor Dröge is a prominent figure within the Dutch breeding association KWPN. She has established herself as a respected breeder and expert in horse breeding. Her dedication and expertise have made her a significant figure in the breeding world, and her contributions to KWPN have been invaluable. With her extensive knowledge and experience, Floor Dröge continues to contribute to the promotion of KWPN’s breeding program and the maintenance of their high standards for Dutch horse breeding.
Eddy Schuster (GER)
Eddy Schuster is the chairman (erster Vorsitzender) of the Pferdezuchtverband Baden-Württemberg, which means he is the top leader and representative of the horse breeding association in Baden-Württemberg. As chairman, he plays a crucial role in promoting the development and growth of horse breeding in Baden-Württemberg.
