Blue Hors Veneziano to Agnete Kirk Thinggaard
"Veneziano is a fantastic horse"
Agnete had been riding Blue Hors Veneziano fairly regularly at Blue Hors, where Daniel gave a helping hand, since the beginning of the year
‘It fills me with confidence to take over Veneziano in this way,’ Agnete says. ‘It’s completely different than, say, bringing a new horse home from abroad after maybe only trying it once or twice. I already knew Veneziano quite well and I got great support from the Blue Hors team.’
‘He is so nice and good tempered that I can ride him in the woods on a loose rein. He’s a super worker and really wants to please his rider.
He’s uncomplicated and very well trained. So it’s been an “easy” take over. I feel very lucky and privileged to be able to take on a horse like this ¬– while still having Daniel in the background, who’s ridden him since he was 4 years old. It’s great that he’s already tried a few Grands Prix. So now it’s just a case of me and Veneziano getting to know each other.’
But the decision has finally been made and the 9 year old stallion is now with his new rider at Julianelyst
Blue Hors Veneziano by Vivaldi/Donnerhall is the cousin of Agnete’s other stallion, the 10-year-old Blue Hors Zatchmo by Blue Hors Zack/Donnerhall, as their mothers are full sisters ¬– and actually full sisters to Blue Hors Don Schufro.
‘Zatchmo and Veneziano are both quite similar, but also quite different. And I love Zatchmo just as much – he’s almost ready for Grand Prix and I hope we can start him in Grand Prix in the autumn. I really feel that I have super horses now, but now I have to live up to them, and I think it will go great with the brilliant team we have.’
