Danish national team wins bronze at the Europeans!

Happy Danish team members

The European Championships in U25 and senior dressage are currently happening in the German city of Hagen at Hof Kasselmann.

Blue Hors rider Nanna Skodborg Merrald, Blue Hors groom Ellen Glinvad Nielsen and Atterupgaard’s Orthilia(after Gribaldi / Donnershlag, breeder: Atterupgaard) are also participating in the European Championships (whose official name is FEI Dressage European Championship Hagen 2021) alongside the other 3 national team riders; Charlotte Heering on Bufranco (after Negro / Zevenster), Daniel Bachmann Andersen on Marshall-Bell (after Blue Hors Don Romantic / Michellino, breeder: Nicolai Jepsen & Tina Christoffersen) and Cathrine Dufour on Bohemian(after Bordeaux / Samarant)

On the first day of the team competition, Nanna and Orthilia ranked as the class’s preliminary number 1 with a more than convincing ride in the Grand Prix to a wild percantage score of 75.078%! Only surpassed by Charlotte Fry on the stallion Everdale, who was also her partner at the Tokyo Olympics! This position put the Danish team in a second place, which on the second day became a nice spot as number one, until the team had to see themselves beaten by Germany’s top riders and mares; Isabell Werth on the Blue Hors Don Schufro-daughter Weihegold OLD, Jessica von Bredow-Werndl on TSF Dalera BB (by Easy Game / Handryk) and England’s Charlotte Dujardin on her Olympic horse the Apache / Tango-son Gio.

We wish the Danish national team huge congratulations on their great rides and their bronze medal at the European Championships / FEI Dressage European Championships 2021!

Don Schufro-daughter on the winning team!

On the winning team from Germany was also the world-famous Isabell Werth on her top mare Weihegold OLD. Weihegold OLD is by our own Blue Hors Don Schufro (/ Sandro Hit) and scored 79,860% in the Grand Prix bringing the German team back on top of the Europeans score board!

Isabell and Weihegold are long time partners, having competed and won several championships and medals, including at World Cups, the Olympics, World Championships and so on..

With that, Weihegold OLD is easily the most winning offspring by Don Schufro and we are very proud to still be able to offer up frozen semen by him!
