Temporary Suspension of Semen Collection at Blue Hors

Sædpakning

Blue Hors EU stallion station in Randbøl is participating in an extensive testing program where blood samples, semen samples, and swabs from reproductive organs are taken from all breeding stallions to screen for various diseases.

The samples are taken at varying intervals depending on the disease type, some as frequently as every three weeks throughout the breeding season.

A single sample from Blue Hors Santiano has resulted in an invalid response, meaning the sample is neither negative nor positive.

Blue Hors Santiano shows no signs of disease and has been tested every three weeks since December 2023, with nine negative results so far.

Based on this, we are naturally convinced that the stallion is not sick, but that something went wrong during the analysis of the sample.

As a result, the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration has decided that no stallions may be tapped until a negative test result can be presented.

Therefore, semen cannot be ordered from Blue Hors until further notice.

Unfortunately, a new test result is not expected until Friday, July 5, 2024, after which we hope to resume semen collection.

We deeply regret having to announce that we must close down again. We are currently investigating the cause of the invalid test result from Santiano, as we are convinced that the final test result will be approved.
