Farrell and Zack ranking on the German "Top 1%"
The German association for horsebreeding and sport, called the FN, has made an overview of which stallions are in the absolute top of their breeding. Two of the stallions that are particularly strong in the game of inheritance are to be found in the stallion stable at Blue Hors! They are our own Blue Hors Farrell and Blue Hors Zack.
These numbers, made by the UN, cover year 2021 and are calculated from around 25 million competition, breeding and young horse results. In this way, the numbers each year equip breeders with a lot of important information to choose a stallion to match their mare.
The breeding values are assessed in the categories “Young horse results”, “National sports results” and “Highest achieved sports results both internationally and nationally” and have been used since the mid-1990s, when the corresponding data was first being collected and evaluated to calculate these estimates. Since then, the international results have also been included in the assessment from 2019. Data for this have been provided by the World Equestrian Federation (FEI).
The purpose of any breeding value assessment is to estimate hereditary differences in performance as accurately as possible, to provide breeders with the necessary info to match stallion and mare. Of course, you can not always guarantee a successful offspring, but you can help the process well on its way through predictions and breeding values, that give us the earliest and best possible input calculated from the stallion’s results in sports and breeding.
It is important to note that the breeding values are estimated with different levels of safety. From 99 percent (very safe) to 70 percent (uncertain).
Blue Hors Farrell on ‘Stallion Top 1% Young Horse Tests Dressage’
For the breeding value estimation of the stallions, the results done by the list’s 4,159 stallions’ offspring, achieved in various dressage tests, apply. In addition, the grades from breeding tests (mare grading, stallion licensing, performance tests and sports tests) also counts.
In order for a stallion’s respective breeding value to be published, the safety of the breeding value must also be at least 70 % and at least five offspring must have contributed with results.
In the Top 25%, 25% of the stallions have a breeding value in dressage of 109 points or better. 10% of the stallions have achieved a breeding value of at least 126 points and the 5 % best of at least 133 points. The best, namely TOP 1% of the stallions, have a breeding value of 146 points or better.
The following stallions are in the TOP 1% of stallions with a breeding value for young horse results in dressage of 146 or better (ranked alphabetically):

Blue Hors Zack on ‘Stallion Top 1% Sports Results Dressage’
When estimating the breeding value of competition results, the only information basis is the starts or placements. This year, data have been calculated from more than 590,000 horses and the results from more than 19.3 million competitions in Germany, of which almost 5.9 million of the results are from dressage.
In relation to the breeding value estimation, all show performances the individual horse has achieved are taken into account, just as the respective breeding values for the stallion’s sports results require a security of at least 70% (at least five offspring’s contributions) to be included.
The following stallions belong in the top 1 % percentage of stallions with a breeding value for dressage of 148 or better (alphabetical order):
